Supporting "Radeln ohne Alter": Borgel Elementbau Donates €3,000 to DRK Bevergern
At Borgel Elementbau, we believe that a strong company is part of a strong community. That is why we are especially pleased to announce a donation of €3,000 to the DRK local chapter Bevergern for its rickshaw project “Radeln ohne Alter”.
A project that brings people together
The idea behind “Radeln ohne Alter” is simple and touching. Volunteer riders take people who can no longer ride a bike themselves, or whose mobility is limited, on rickshaw rides through Bevergern and the surrounding area. The passengers sit comfortably up front, enjoy the fresh air and the landscape, and share stories along the way. The initiative began in Denmark and has since spread to many countries. In our region, it is now carried by the dedication of the DRK volunteers in Bevergern.
What makes these rides special is that they offer far more than a way to get from A to B. They give people the chance to get out of the house, to be part of village life again, and to experience places they may not have seen for a long time. For many passengers, a single ride can be a highlight of the week.
Why we wanted to help
When we learned about the project, we were immediately convinced. It combines volunteer commitment, social responsibility and pure joy, and it makes a real difference to people right here in our neighborhood. The enthusiasm for the offer can be felt everywhere, and interest keeps growing.
That growing demand is exactly why a second rickshaw is urgently needed. With one vehicle, the number of rides is naturally limited. A second rickshaw will allow the DRK to welcome more passengers, offer more trips and bring even more smiles to the streets of Bevergern. Our donation is intended to help make this purchase possible.
“We simply loved the project and wanted to support it,” says the Borgel Elementbau team. “The enthusiasm for the offer is felt everywhere, and we are glad to be able to help the DRK with this.”
