We have designated internal safety officers and internal and external safety experts to oversee safety measures within the company premises. Borgel Elementbau assigns Safety Managers at the site, who are familiar with the specific requirements of the project and the local safety regulations.
We provide HSE plans and safety manuals, RAMS including COSHH analysis, LPs as well as instructions, trainings, toolbox talks, and LMRA. HSE site walks (with green/yellow/red cards), internal HSE audits, a HSE league with criteria scores and safety inspections of equipment help to ensure that the workplace remains safe. 5-point PPE and further health and safety actions as per project requirement.
Welfare facilities for staff at site are standard. We provide office and day accommodation containers and sanitary containers.
We use Quality Inspection and Test Plans (QITP’s) for different activities, establishing a timeline for completion and ensuring that all team members are on the same page.
We also establish benchmarks for workflows to ensure that our team is working efficiently and effectively. We believe that consistent performance is key to meeting our client’s expectations.
To ensure that all aspects of the project meet our rigorous standards, we use Quality Records for site inspections, site tests, and commissioning.
We conduct roof leak tests at roof handover to the client to ensure that the building envelope is watertight and ready for use.
We provide M&O manuals that outline procedures for ongoing maintenance and operations of the building, ensuring that it continues to function properly for years.
We provide client training on SOO basis to ensure that the client understands the handling required and can handle any issues that may arise during the lifetime of the equipment.
Throughout the project, we provide regular reporting to our clients, both on and offsite. This includes documentation of materials and long-lead equipment, as well as progress updates on construction, quality control, snagging, and close-out.
To ensure compliance with legal requirements, we have an internal compliance manager off-site and a competent quality officer on-site. They are responsible for overseeing the following aspects: Social security requirements, customs & A1 registrations work time requirements Payment requirements, including legal minimum wage and applicable tariff regulations Qualifications, trainings, and certifications for personnel and equipment Technical compliance with local regulations.
Our compliance team also monitors and keeps our database updated, ensuring completeness, correctness, and actuality of all relevant information.
We work closely with the respective German-“foreign” chamber of commerce and local administrative authorities, such as social security authorities, in each country in which we operate. In addition, we are registered for tax purposes in various European countries and cooperate with tax offices and tax consultants as required. We take care of VAT processing, prepare statistical reports and manage payroll to meet all tax requirements.
Finally, we collaborate with organizations such as IFBS (Industrial Association for Light Steel Construction) to ensure compliance with European standards and to ensure that each project meets the local and contractual agreed standards.
We have a strict environmental policy in our general liability insurance. We are proud to have operated for 24 years without any environmental violations. In our construction projects, we consider LEED and DGNB standards where relevant. In terms of waste management, we ensure proper separation of waste such as wood, scrap metal, and mixed waste. We reduce packaging waste and dispose of it properly. When possible, we rely on local procurement of work platforms, cranes, scaffolding, and materials. When using wood, we use only FSC-certified wood. We also provide environmental product documentation, including certifications and information on VOCs (volatile organic compounds).
