New training center

New training center for the Steinfurt Warendorf district crafts association in Rheine

On April 28, 2023, the Steinfurt Warendorf District Chamber of Crafts opened its new "Education Center" for inter-company apprenticeship training a stone's throw away from Rheine train station. In the modern new building, new, practical classrooms were created for 138 of the total of 256 craft training areas in five workshop areas. Borgel Elementbau supplied and installed the copper-colored facade elements for this building and manufactured the framing for the sectional doors.

Modern workshops for modern crafts: The new building became necessary because most of the buildings of the district crafts association in Rheine are already 60-70 years old and in need of major renovation. The board of directors and management finally decided: "A modern craft needs modern workshops!" Three halls for motor vehicles, two for metal, two for welding, three for electrical and one for sanitary, heating and air conditioning were built on 4520 m2 and two levels for five large workshop areas. The school desks and presentation media are located directly in the workshop and the teachers can, for example, teach in the automotive area directly at the car standing next to it. The building also houses social rooms, foreman's rooms and other training rooms. A total of 6300 participants are to be taught here each year.

Unique selling point: In keeping with the down-to-earth nature of the skilled trades, a functional building was created "without golden taps," as CEO Frank Tischner emphasized. However, the district craftsmen's association did afford itself one special feature: the copper-colored facade in "Seren Copper". Frank Tischner is pleased with the "courageous color decision" among the color samples presented by Borgel Elementbau, which in his view represents a "unique selling point" in the final result. Managing Director Reinhard Kipp was also pleased, because despite many adverse effects due to Corona, inflation and the energy crisis, the planned construction costs were exceeded by only 4.8 percent due to the careful supervision of the construction work and interventions in the execution.
